5 career options for cabin crew with travel and growth opportunities.

Wondering how to keep the best and most exciting aspect of the aviation job, travelling and do SOMETHING ELSE? THIS article will bring some answers.

Many people join airlines because it allows them to travel the world. Cabin crew does not have to be a job for entire life. The aviation market is becoming more and more competitive and more airlines go out of business every single year.

There are several reasons why people quit. They get tired of long hours, low pay, lack of respect or recognition or simply want to do something else.

The income level of flight attendants is on average £18k /year, which is $23k. It can be higher or lower depending on the carrier and the seniority of the cabin crew.

“I worked for Mixed Fleet out of Heathrow as cabin crew. Mixed Fleet is a low cost, hard-working, harsh terms and conditions newest contract within the BA fleets. You work to the max possible hours, often grounded due to reaching 900 hours per year, low flight pay, low basic. On average you take home around 1400 GBP. The management treats mixed fleet crew as a second-class citizen if not worse.” – opinion shared on www.indeed.co.uk

Recently I’ve met ex British Airways cabin crew, who had to resign, as she could not afford to live in London out of her cabin crew salary and she is not the only one.

If you look closely the job market is full of jobs that provide a decent salary and opportunity to travel. Here are just a few examples to inspire you.

There are 3 main factors of transitioning from cabin crew to any of those jobs, there are salary, travel opportunity and difficulty of a transition.

They will be different depending on the company you will be working with and their needs, the location, and the skills you already have. Sometimes it is worth planning your transition and obtaining the skills before making the move, rather than waiting till things get worse at your job.
